These terms govern your use of mybirdhouse.ca and any quote, consultation or installation service provided by My Birdhouse, a BC Sole Proprietorship based in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. By using this site or engaging our services, you agree to the terms below.

Our services

My Birdhouse provides:

• Smart home system design, integration and configuration (Energy, Comfort, Safety and related packages)
• Coordination of licensed subcontractors for work that legally requires a license, such as electrical and plumbing
• Minor, non-licensed hands-on tasks as part of an installation
• Optional remote monitoring and AI assistant subscription add-ons

Quotes and pricing

Figures shown on this site are planning estimates, rounded for clarity. A final quote is confirmed after we understand your specific home and requirements — typically through a short conversation or on-site walkthrough. Hardware is billed at documented cost plus a flat 15% handling charge covering procurement, certification vetting, returns and warranty administration; licensed subcontractor labor is passed through at their rates without markup. Nothing on this site constitutes a binding offer until a quote is confirmed in writing.

Licensed work by subcontractors

Any work legally requiring a license (electrical, plumbing, gas, etc.) is performed by independent, licensed subcontractors that we coordinate on your behalf. That work is governed by their own licensing, insurance and warranty terms, which we'll share with you before work begins.

No guaranteed results

While our systems are designed to help reduce energy use and improve comfort and safety, we don't guarantee a specific dollar amount of savings, as actual results depend on your home, habits, and utility rates. Rebate and incentive program eligibility (e.g. BC Hydro, FortisBC) is determined by those programs, not by us.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, My Birdhouse is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or our services, beyond the amount paid for the specific service in question. This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded under BC or Canadian law.

Intellectual property

The content, design and branding of this site belong to My Birdhouse and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable within it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our business grows. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
